ESSENTIAL OILS: A NATURAL SOLUTION FOR HEALTHY HAIR

THE BENEFITS OF USING ESSENTIAL OILS FOR HAIR CARE

In recent times, essential oils have been the solution to (nearly) all problems. These oils, from lifting mood and concentration to soothing insect bites, contain many beneficial properties if used correctly. They are used to improve health, and in addition to being used in skin and face care, they can also be used in hair care.

Concentrated essential oils will give almost new life to your hair and can help with hair growth. This is because essential oils are full of vitamins and nutritious ingredients that can nourish hair and the scalp. In terms of hair care, essential oils can, among other things, stimulate hair growth, calm an inflamed scalp, and help remove accumulated products.

Before using any essential oil, mix it with a hair product because, due to its strength, oils should not be applied directly to the skin. Also, leave it on your scalp briefly to not clog hair follicles. Massage the oil for several minutes and then rinse it out with shampoo.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING ESSENTIAL OILS IN HAIR CARE

Essential oils can significantly help hair care because they positively affect the sebaceous glands and can normalize their function. They deeply penetrate the hair shaft and follicle and help create healthy, shiny hair and promote its growth.

When we talk about the benefits of essential oils, they are strengthening hair, helping control dandruff-prone scalps, improving the structure and resilience of hair, and soothing irritations on a dry scalp and dandruff. Some essential oils can even help with restructuring, recovery, or strengthening hair. In contrast, others can significantly affect and improve scalp health.

WHICH ESSENTIAL OILS TO USE IN HAIR CARE?

Although dozens of essential oils are available, some can only be used in some situations. Regarding hair care, the following essential oils are usually highlighted: lavender, peppermint, rosemary, tea tree, eucalyptus and frankincense.

It is well known that lavender has properties that can stimulate cell growth and reduce stress, which is why lavender essential oil is often used for accelerated hair growth. It has antimicrobial and antibacterial properties that can improve scalp health.

When applied to a particular area of the hair, peppermint essential oil can cause a sensation of coldness and mild tingling that enhances circulation in the place where the oil was applied, thus helping to stimulate hair growth during the anagen phase.

One of the favorite oils in hair care is rosemary essential oil. This oil can improve hair's thickness and growth because rosemary has high cell formation-improving abilities.

Tea tree essential oil has strong antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. When used locally or directly on the skin (in this case, the hair), it can help unclog hair follicles and increase hair growth. Since tea tree essential oils often come in different concentrations, following the manufacturer's instructions is crucial so as not to overdose and cause problems.

Almost everyone knows that nearly all essential oils should not be applied directly to the skin and should be combined with carrier oil or shampoo for hair. So, as good carrier oils in hair care, try jojoba, almond, coconut, avocado, and olive oil which have proven to be excellent base oils for scalp massage.
