AROMATIC MASSAGE BARS FOR RELAXATION AND SKINCARE
YOU CAN EASILY HAVE A HOME MASSAGE
We often accumulate various types of tension in our bodies. Maybe our backs are sore and tense from a long day of sitting in an office chair, or maybe a lack of movement and exercise. Stress can also accumulate in our bodies, especially in the neck and upper back area. Headaches often follow. If you love massages as much as we do, we suggest you continue reading this blog post and find ways to bring yourself relief in a natural and easy way. Give yourself a fragrant and relaxing massage.
WE LOVE A MASSAGE, ESPECIALLY IF IT'S NATURAL
You don’t have to spend lots of money on expensive products, especially if they’re full of harmful or unnecessary ingredients. Instead of ready-made creams or oils or going to a massage parlour and emptying your bank account rapidly, why not make your own massage bars? You may be wondering what those are, exactly?
Massage bars are soap-like solid kinds of butter that melt in contact with the skin. As with all homemade cosmetics, it is important to keep in mind the purity and safety – you want to provide your body with natural, good quality and organic ingredients.
We’re bringing you a simple recipe for making your own massage bars. You’ll need only a few ingredients and very little time to make them. On the other hand, the results will be great, and your bars will last longer than the products you’ll most often find on store shelves.
AROMATIC AND RELAXING MASSAGE BARS
To make your own massage bars you’ll need only a few ingredients, ten minutes for preparation and a few hours of patience during which you wait (and do other things you please) while the bars return to solid form.
You’ll need the following ingredients:
- 100 grams of organic shea or cocoa butter (6 or 7 tablespoons)
- 20 drops of true lavender essential oil
- 10 drops of Indian frankincense essential oil
Making it is more than easy. Firstly, you’ll need to melt the shea or cocoa butter. You can do this by steam heating. Pour water into a pot and place another one with the butter on top of the first. When the water heats up, the vapour will start to melt the butter. Do this briefly – just enough for the butter to melt – be careful not to burn it. Set the bowl with the melted butter aside and add the essential oils to it. Stir well with a wooden spoon, then pour into the moulds you’ve chosen. Be creative with them – the moulds don’t have to be anything fancy or professional. Use what you already have at home – shallow glass or ceramic dishes or cups, bread moulds (you can always cut the bars into smaller pieces when they cool and harden) – use whatever you think is the best option and what you already have at hand.
WHY THESE KINDS OF BUTTER AND ESSENTIAL OILS?
Shea butter is a great skincare product for all skin types. It nourishes, protects the skin from drying out and hydrates it. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect and intensively nourishes dry and damaged skin. On top of that, it’s rich in vitamins A and E.
Cocoa butter is also a superb skincare product – it nourishes and prevents the skin from drying out. It also increases skin elasticity and is quickly absorbed.
True lavender essential oil will nourish and heal irritated or damaged skin. In combination with shea or cocoa butter, it will soothe ever further, providing much-needed relief. In addition, when applied through the skin, it will ease muscle tension and relieve cramps. The scent also has a calming effect and will help you have a better night’s sleep.
Indian frankincense essential oil also has a calming effect when applied through the skin. It nourishes it along the way, especially if it is very dry or ageing. In addition, it will have a stimulating effect on your immune system and even help you breathe easier and deeper.
