5 NATURAL SERUMS FOR EVERY SKIN TYPE

FACE AS A REFLECTION

The face is one of the most exposed parts of the body. With hands and forearms, facial skin is the most exposed to external influences. These effects can be diverse - excessive sun exposure, pollution and exhaust fumes, various irritants hidden in care products, or excessive use of these same products. These influences are not exclusively external - face is often the catalyst of what is happening inside the body. It is very common for facial skin to "go wild" due to violent change - be it diet, stressful lifestyle, or hormonal imbalance. The skin is affected by the change of seasons, as well, the amount of moisture in the air or profuse sweating.

INSIDE CARE

Best facial care starts from the inside. Influences such as life habits are under our control. But what about the ones we can’t control? We won’t shut ourselves in a dark room to avoid the harmful sun or shut off all the air supply, so the city pollution doesn’t reach us. Unfortunately, we cannot command hormones to circulate in our bodies in a way we’d like it to. But all that doesn’t mean we have to give up on everything and declare defeat. Life is not black and white, nor is our degree of control. We can still intervene from the inside, but also from the outside – with adequate skin care.

LESS IS MORE

In the world of essential oils, less is more. The recipes we recommend follow the same principle. You do not need fifty ingredients to have a nourishing and wholesome face serum. In fact, three or four are enough. Know your skin type and reap the benefits of minimalism on your face.

PORES AND BASE OILS

Oils we use to dilute essential oils before applying to the skin, or base oils, differ in the degree to which they clog pores. The property of an oil to clog or unclog pores is called comedogenicity. In the recipes KAIAA brings you, we list two oils: almond and argan. Almond oil is not entirely non-comedogenic, it will clog pores inconsiderably, but for majority it will be mild and easy to work with. Argan oil, however, is entirely non-comedogenic - there is no possibility of clogging the pores. There are other non-comedogenic oils: hemp seed oil, grape seed oil, shea butter. For skin excessively oily or prone to acne and pimples, use non-comedogenic base oils.

SERUM FOR EVERY SKIN TYPE

KAIAA offers five simple recipes to make serum for every skin type. In a dark, glass bottle with a dropper or pipette, mix the listed ingredients. Close and shake well to mix the essential oil and base oil well. Once you have made your serum, rub 3 to 5 drops of serum between your palms and apply to your face. Be sure to always apply serum to previously cleansed skin. Do this in the morning, before bedtime, or anytime you like it. Use the base oil that suits your skin type the best. We list almond and argan oil in our recipes, but we encourage you to explore and find the one that best suits your skin. As a reminder, the finest care starts from the inside, so be good to yourselves when starting something new. Enjoy these recipes and reward your face with the best nature has to offer.
